Instrument Interfacing |
Mukon has extensive experience in developing electronic interfaces to facilitate communication between a computer system (e.g. LIMS or LIS) and instruments (e.g. pathology analysers). Over the past 13 years we have developed interfaces between LIS systems and analysers supplied by a multitude of suppliers, including Siemens, Beckman, Abbott and Roche.
Electronic interfacing of results has multiple advantages, including accuracy (no human typing errors) and productivity. Bi-directional interfacing (where the computer system also sends messages to the analyser) also populates demographic patient info on the analyser and give instructions to the analyser on the tests to perform when the sample barcode is detected in a tray on the instrument.
